When Metallo grows, there’s only one way to block his Kryptonite Vision. So go over to the Daily Planet, Pick up the giant globe, and just as Metallo is about to fire, throw the globe at his head. This blocks it, and damages him.

Overkhast In Metropolis
When Overkhast grows in Metropolis, don’t leave him alone, because he’ll destroy the city. Throw lots of cars at him to defeat him.
